November 20 - **The Denver Schools' e-mail system has been down since 10:30 this morning.  If you need to reach someone at the school, please contact the respective office.

Denver High School will be having the Winter Sports Mandatory Parent Meeting on Monday, November 23, 2009. On that date the meeting will be held in the high school gym, starting at 7:00 p.m. If you attended the fall parent meeting, you do not need to attend this meeting. The meeting should last approximately one-half hour. If you cannot attend, a DVD will be available to be checked out at the high school office on Tuesday, November 24th. Athletes participating in winter activities will not be eligible until parents have signed in at the meeting or have checked out the DVD.  This meeting is for all parents whose student(s) are participating in any of the following winter sports: Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, Wrestling, Girls Bowling, Boys Bowling, Wrestling Cheerleading and Basketball Cheerleading.

KWWL has launched a new text messaging service, aimed at keeping viewers informed no matter where they are.

Subscribers can choose specific types of messages to receive like breaking news or weather alerts. Daily weather alerts will go out at 7 a.m. with a look at what to expect as you get ready for work or school. Severe weather alerts are also available by county to warn you of potentially dangerous weather in your area. Other alerts include traffic, programming changes, contests and special offers.

Standard text messaging rates apply, meaning if you have a text messaging plan through your mobile provider, the messages will be free.

If you have previously signed up for KWWL's school closing alerts, you are still subscrib ed to receive those alerts. But, if you go to the sign-up page and choose to edit your preferences, you can sign up for the new types of alerts.

Calendar Changes: The varsity boys' basketball team will play at Wartburg on Saturday, December 19th beginning at 5:30 p.m.  The varsity girls' basketball team will play at the McLeod Center on Tuesday, February 9th at 6:00 p.m.
